Mediaplanet is a great business school; here you really learn how to close a deal, how to create a paper and how to build trust among clients, journalists and readers. I started here right after I graduated as a Marketing student from the University of Växjö, Sweden, and I really enjoy working with so many young, driven and well-educated co-workers.

As Project Manager at Mediaplanet I take charge of a number of projects, focused reports, every year. I am the one financing the project and managing everything from the editorial content to the look of the final product. I start my day by checking my e-mail. Thereafter I follow my action plan from the day before, meaning I know exactly which companies to contact. My job is a lot about maintaining relationships with clients and getting them on board to place their message in my paper, so after a couple of intense hours on the phone I’ve hopefully made some well-deserved sales. To be able to finance the paper I also have to create an appealing surrounding for the advertisers and their message, so frequent contact with the editorial department and journalists is also part of my daily tasks.

To become a great Project Manager you really have to be positive, ambitious and thick-skinned, since the job involves many setbacks. But it is all worth it every time you bring in a sale or you bring out a new paper!
