Mediaplanet gives me a total financial overview since I am involved in all financial procedures and I am learning something new every day. By being the only one in the finance team here, I have to teach myself in a lot of situations, which is great for my personal development.

If you would ask my colleagues what a normal day looks like for me, they would probably say I only work with overdue, since that is mostly what I involve them in. But honestly I do more than that: writing reports to the local management team and head office, pay salaries, draw up contracts, keep track of accounting records and so forth. As Financial Manager I ensure that proper and complete accounting records are kept, that financial reports are timely and accurate, that the company’s cash cycles are properly managed, and in general that sound financial considerations are taken into account in the management of the company. This makes my job very varied and every day different.

To become a good Financial Manager in Mediaplanet I would say that you need to be flexible, critical and good at meeting deadlines. Last, but not least you need to be able to have fun during work hours!
